Danish-Vietnamese partners expand activities in northern Vietnam with new eco-lodge for travellers looking for adventure
The Danish tour operator Topas and their Vietnamese partner Phu Thinh Co. have opened their new Eco-Lodge near Sapa in Lao Cai Province in the northern part of Vietnam.
The Lao Cai authorities, the Danish ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen and many business partners from Vietnam and abroad participated in the grand opening 9 April 2005.
The 25 individual eco-cottages are situated in picturesque surroundings on a mountain top 20 kilometres from Sapa. Here, up to 50 travellers can be hosted at a time.
Focus is on trekking, mountain biking and other adventure sports as well as on fresh air, quietness and first-hand impressions of a local community inhabited by different ethnic minorities living in their traditional way.
Owner of Topas Travel Mr. Jørgen Nielsen states:
"We are proud to present the natural beauty and traditions of this region to our guests and of bringing sustainable tourism and income to the peoples in this part of Vietnam."
The cooperation between Topas and Phu Thinh Co. is supported by Danida's Private Sector Development Programme.
